We moved from our Lakewood celebration to Cincinnati. Emily and Eleanor drove home last Thursday to celebrate with Grandma and Grandpa Thorpe. For some reason, no pictures were taken. Andy drove down on Friday night, and then on Saturday, mayhem continued at Mimi and Papa Sweeney's. Guests included Great Grandma Sweeney, Great Grandma and Grandpa Clark, and the famous Scotty G. Uncle B stopped by before he had to work - he sat in the bathroom for awhile building up a good dose of cologne and farts.
Here, Ellie is admiring her new tea set and wondering who will serve it to her. She's pointing out how Mommy can do all kinds of great things with it...to serve Ellie.
Chris and Nicole Kloesz were kind enough to think of Ellie on her birthday, providing beautiful hats such as this one. Ellie preferred everyone else to wear them.
Whoa, check it out! Mimi and Papa got Ellie her first bike. We had to open this present last because it was the favorite. She still can't figure out the pedals, but it is great indoor and outdoor fun.
Tricycle Time.
Cupcakes and Graeter's ice cream to celebrate - what could be better. In Ellie's case, just eating the icing was apparently better.
The party was Elmo-themed, so of course, he had to make an appearance. I caught Melmo for a brief second.
Scotty G came to hang out, and he was even kind enough to bring his own dinner, so that we didn't have to feed him. Here they are playing hide and seek behind Winnie.Overall, Ellie's birthday was a huge success. We really weren't planning on it taking over our lives for 2 weeks, but when you live out of town and have such great grandparents, you get 1 spoiled little girl.
*We haven't really done any updates on the fact that we are
still having a second child in less than 2 months. It is still happening, despite the fact that every time I ask Ellie if she wants a brother or a sister she says, "No." If we can figure out how to scan our 4D picture of Baby #2 into the computer, we will put that up soon. Overall, Baby #2 is healthy and active - I think my stomach might explode some times (too much info? probably).
